Hi my name is Faf, I am a Pakistani Swiss woman living between Zürich and Geneva.

I grew up in a multi-cultural environment and am fluent in five languages. Originally an architect, I also draw, write, dance, sing, and play the ukulele (my sisters say that I’m ‘quite the catch’!) I love all that is beautiful and functional and my brain loves to optimize.

Despite all this, I’ve fallen on my face more times than I can count. I’ve had burnouts and existential crises. In my worst moments I suffer from debilitating anxiety and there are basic things I still haven’t figured out yet…

Like how to adjust an office swivel chair.

Or why at the end of each day I always find pebbles in my socks.

How to hold a mug which would not result in hot tea spilling all over me.

Or proper control over my limbs so that I could round corners without slamming my shoulder against the wall.

I was given the nickname Faf in high school and years later, when I wanted to put a name on what I do, I found the term ‘faffing around’ pertinent. I made this website in reaction to the restraints and limitations of everyday life and truly hope that you will find it entertaining. And who knows, maybe while reading you’ll relate to the literary references, irony, and innuendos?
